Working Principle

Look at stress changes inside the rock

When the airborne splitter works, it profoundly changes the stress state inside the rock. In the initial state, the rock is in a relatively stable stress equilibrium. When the splitting gun of the splitting machine is inserted into the pre-drilled hole and started, the high-pressure oil pushes the wedge to expand. The extruding pressure of the wedge creates a local high stress concentration area on the pore wall of the rock. The stress in these areas far exceeds the tensile strength of the rock, and tiny cracks begin to form inside the rock. As the wedge continues to expand, the cracks continue to extend and expand, and connect with each other between adjacent boreholes. The transfer of stress and the spread of cracks are like an invisible net woven in the interior of the rock, gradually destroying the integrity of the rock until the whole rock is completely broken along the splitting plane formed by these cracks. The whole process is a process of precise control and destruction of the internal stress of the rock.
