The mining equipment ball mill, precisely known as the ball mill, is a grinding device used in industries such as mining, metallurgy, and chemical engineering. Ball mill is mainly used to crush and grind materials like ores, coal, and slag to achieve the required particle size, thereby meeting the demands of subsequent processes.

The main body of the ball mill is a low-speed rotating cylinder horizontally installed on two large bearings. Inside the cylinder, there are many grinding media, usually steel balls. When the ball mill rotates, the grinding media, due to the effect of inertial centrifugal force, adhere to the liner surface on the inner wall of the mill cylinder and rotate together with the cylinder, being lifted to a certain height. Then, under the action of gravity, they fall freely. During the fall, the grinding media, like projectiles, crush the materials contained in the cylinder. Meanwhile, during the rotation of the ball mill cylinder, the grinding media also slide and roll, causing grinding between the grinding media, the liner and the material, thereby grinding the material finely. While the material is being crushed by impact and ground, due to the continuous forced feeding at the feeding end and the height difference of the material surface between the feeding end and the discharging end, the material slowly flows from the feeding end to the discharging end, completing the grinding operation.
